Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Thomas A'Becket Infant School Inclusion Policy supports high quality inclusion for all. We want all children to make good progress according to their ability and starting points. It is the aim of the Governors that all children recognised by school staff, parents or other agencies as requiring additional provision will access further support through WSCC Special Education Needs and Disability procedures and, if necessary, through Statutory Assessment in line with the DfE (Department of Education).

All schools are required to publish and review information for parents and carers about the support and provision for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The questions were given to schools and the answers have been written collaboratively by the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo), a parent of a child who has SEND and the school’s Governor for Inclusion.

We pride ourselves on the partnership that we build with all our families but especially in the support we offer for those families who require additional support.

Please contact Mrs Teresa Bourne (SENDCo and Inclusion Leader) for further information: tbourne@tabinfant.org.uk
