Learning in Year 2

 

At Thomas A’ Becket Infant School we aim to offer an inclusive and accessible creative curriculum for all of our children (regardless of race, disability, gender and social background). Within our curriculum planning we personalise learning to meet the needs of the children’s individual needs and stage of development wherever possible.

In Year 2 the children continue the National Curriculum and their learning provides evidence for the related assessments begun by the Year One teachers. It is a 'Can Do' Curriculum, so children have to achieve all areas and this has to be evidenced independently in their work in addition to the test results. 
The terminology used to report on your child's attainment/progress:
'On/Not on Track' to meet age-related expectations and 'Working Below'/'Towards'/'At' or 'At Greater Depth'.
